IDC & IBM webinar series: The role of the hyperscalers in your hybrid cloud journey

Overview

The role of the hyperscalers in Nordic organisations’ hybrid cloud journey

Most organisations in the Nordics are on an IT modernisation journey that involves a shift to a hybrid cloud environment. The shift is driven by cost efficiency, flexibility, and innovation capabilities, and typically involves services from one or more of the hyperscaler cloud provides, Microsoft, AWS, Red Hat and Google.

In this webinar series, we will hear from all hyperscalers about their local presence, commitment, and customers, and how they each support different paths in the IT modernisation journey. you register for the series here

August 25th at 9:00 - 9:30: Application Modernisation and Migration with AWS.

To fully leverage the advantages of cloud, organisations must go beyond just moving existing applications and workloads from a traditional infrastructure to a cloud environment. Applications need to be modernised and data flows optimised to ensure performance and user experience.
At the webinar, we will discuss how AWS helps organisations in the Nordics take advantage of multiple data locations and minimise latency and improve data their management capabilities while also benefitting from an improved environmental footprint without disrupting the business with intrusive and lengthy modernisation and implementation projects.

September 1st at 9:00 - 9:30: Building Integrated Industry Solutions with Microsoft.
As organisations shift the application estate to the cloud they embrace a fully managed software model where version control, updating and regular maintenance is no longer needed. However, there are caveats. Applications and data reside outside the organisations firewall, introducing new challenges for security and compliance. Furthermore, organisations risk ending up in a fragmented environment with different applications running in each their silo.
At the webinar, we will discuss how Microsoft deals with security in the cloud, and how their cloud portfolio and partner ecosystem allows organisations to build and integrate industry solutions.

September 8th at 9:00 - 9:30: Building and managing cloud agnostic services with Red Hat

Cloud adoption is not a project with a defined end-date, but an ongoing process of shifting services to cloud environments, building new services in the cloud, and continuously optimising the existing cloud setup by running the workloads where it makes most sense from a performance, cost, and security point of view.
At the webinar we will discuss how organisations in the Nordics use Red Hat and Open Source in combination with hyperscaler cloud services to nurture innovation, and ensure that both the application and data layers are flexible and fully cloud agnostic.

September 15th at 9:00 - 9:30: Transforming and opening the infrastructure with Google Cloud
Organisations' cloud journey is about much more than changing the technology platform. It involves a paradigm change in technology that depends on multiple cloud providers and enable new ways of working to drive business innovation.
At the webinar, we will discuss how Google Cloud propels Nordic organisations to adapt a culture that fuel innovation, and how the use of Open Source technologies makes it possible to deliver solutions in IT environments that already depend on one or more other cloud providers.
